Doctor Who Has A New Star!

Fair warning, this post contains Spoilers from the next and last seasons of Doctor Who

So the announcement was finally made today! Just a few hours ago, BBC announced who would be taking over the role of The Doctor in the 11th season of the rebooted series of Doctor Who. And we were absolutely expecting this...

When Chris Chibnall takes over the show, for its 11th season since it rebooted in 2005, The Doctor will be played by, drumroll....

Jodie Whittaker!

The show is finally getting its first female Doctor, to which a lot of people are saying ABOUT TIME! And we have to agree! Just, you know, not now...

Okay before you come at us with torches and pitchforks hear us out. The last season with Peter Capaldi was, for the most part, phenomenal. Capaldi finally seemed to completely find his stride as The Doctor, Bill was an amazing companion and Missy's character development was incredibly refreshing, though, let's be honest, it's not going to stick. Most of all, was the foreshadowing that Time Lords can regenerate into either sex. It was brilliant when we saw that the Master had become a woman, especially when John Simm's Master encountered her.

So, where's the problem?

Well, it's in the foreshadowing itself. Personally, I felt like they were constantly reminding me of the possibility so that when I saw the announcement my initial reaction was, "Well... yeah, obviously."

Yes, we love the idea of there being a female Doctor, but would've loved to have seen them back off the suggestion over another season or so, so that when a woman was finally cast we could all go, "Oh yeah, that is a thing!" We would've liked it to be more of a refreshing change, as apposed to a predictable one.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this development and why you agree or disagree with us in the comments.

Orc Update 7-13-17

What's going on guys! This is Thomas with Orc Rogues. We just wanted to let you know a little bit about what was going on in Orc land!

Next Week

So as most of you know, we've been posting videos on YouTube since last December talking mostly about upcoming nerdy or geeky movies, TV shows, and video games. You also may have noticed that some of our videos have been a little... different recently. A few weeks ago was our first sketch show with "The 5 People You WILL Play D&D With".

We want to do more of this type of show and widen the scope of "Nerdy, Geeky, and Just Plain Fun" starting with "5 More People You WILL Play D&D with, possibly as soon as next week.

Online Store

A while back we made an announcement that we would soon be carrying dice on our website. We do have the dice in stock and are working to get them posted as quickly as we can. They are for sale and if you would like to purchase them before they are posted please contact us directly with color preference. We are also very excited to announce that our Zazzle store is now open with some awesome Orc Rogues gear! So if you want to look awesome, click the link below!

So, a while back we announced that we were working on a new show for our channel called "Erpig", a show where we play an original table top RPG. We wanted to let you all know that a lot of progress has been made. We're still trying to work out some game mechanics to make it more video friendly as well as making a game that will be more streamlined, so that even the most novice table top RPG player can pick it up easily.

This entire process may take a little longer than we had originally anticipated but the testing phase is well underway and more updates will come soon!

The Part Where We Beg

To do Erpig and other projects the way that we'd like to, we need equipment. We're looking at buying new video cameras to bring all of you better quality and more visually appealing content. Along with Erpig, we're also planning on doing more web series and a potential original movie. We have plans to also be able to offer professional video services in our community, at a reasonable price, such as weddings, recitals, school events, theatrical productions, and more. If you would like to donate, please visit our Patreon page or contact us directly at or through our "About The Orcs" Page.

Thank you all so much for your continued support. Without all of you none of this would be possible in the least.

You'll Never Believe What This Guy Tried To Do At Comic Con

Ever been to a big convention? They're certainly something to experience. A lot of big celebrities making appearances, signing autographs and answering long asked questions in panels, as well as vendors with amazing gear from clothing to collectables, and of course, how could we forget the cosplayers!

People flock to these conventions wearing all sorts of fantastic costumes, and of course you always have the good, bad, and ugly of cosplay, but with all of the hidden identities and prop weapons, you kinda have to ask, "How easy would it be for this to go horribly wrong?"

Well, the good folks at the Phoenix, Arizona Comic Con almost found out last month when an armed "vigilante" walked in a side door, dressed as The Punisher, wearing body armor and armed to the teeth with a shotgun, three handguns, pepper spray, a tactical knife, and ninja throwing stars.

That's right boys and girls... ninja throwing stars...

No need to worry, no one was harmed in the incident, but it certainly made for one heck of a story.

On May 25th Matthew Sterling of Mesa, Arizona entered the convention. He was quickly spotted and apprehended by police on site. He protested saying that they couldn't arrest him because he was, in fact, The Punisher. He went on to say that he was there to kill bad, or "Aphrodite", cops.

Police later found a reminder on his phone's calendar for that day that said "Kill JDF"

Sterling admitted to police that "JDF" referred to Jason David Frank, a man that Sterling claimed to have stabbed fifteen years prior. Jason David Frank is an actor and mixed martial-artist, best know for his role as Tommy, the green ranger, on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

In a press release, Frank stated that he had never encountered Sterling, nor had ever received a stab wound. He also stated, several times, that he was not shaken by the events of the convention and that, "There's a price to be a celebrity, but I don't really consider myself a celebrity, although I am."

All prop weapons were banned for the duration of the convention and Frank continued with his schedule.

Sterling has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon in a prohibited area, resisting arrest, and wearing body armor during the commission of a crime, among other things.

Be sure to watch Thomas and Derek's reactions to this story and others in this week's episode of Orc Rogues!

This week Thomas and Derek discuss the man who tried to terrorize the Phoenix Arizona Comic Con as well as Ron Howard taking over direction on the new Han Solo movie. They also cover the passing of Adam West as well as Bethesda's Creation Club.

Star Trek Timelines Discussion

What's going on guys! We have just posted a fresh new episode of Orc Rogues and this week we start thinking outside of the box because we're discussing the Star Trek timelines!

Now, we know that there was no way we could cover all of the possibilities in one video, but we thought we could discuss some theories and confirmed canon about how many timelines there are in the Star Trek universe and how the new series, Discovery, could possibly fit in.

So, get ready for your brain to hurt, words to get hard, and logic to be thrown out the window!

Orc Rogues: VR and Last Jedi Photos

In the latest episode of Orc Rogues, Thomas and Derek give their first reactions to using the Samsung Gear VR as well as the Vanity Fair photo shoot from the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

If we manage to reach 100 subscribers within two weeks (so by June 12 2017) we will upload a video of Thomas playing the VR game Face Your Fears. Thomas doesn't like anything scary and may very well crap himself live so it should be highly amusing.

Be sure to share this video with your friends and get the work out... you know... so Thomas has to do the video...
