Avengers Infinity War Full Deaths Analysis

So, first of all, we have to clear the air a little here because this blog, as the video, contains spoilers. That being said…

Man, a lot of people died in this movie!

We’re not holding back. We’re going to be covering every death, and what we think it means for the next movies. Disagree with our thoughts or have ideas of your own? Leave them in the comments of this post or our video on YouTube!

Hiemdall and Loki

So, let’s start at the beginning. Within the first half hour of the new movie we get our first two deaths. Heimdall and Loki. Heimdall would be surprising if it weren’t permanent. There was such a finality to his death and sacrifice to get Bruce Banner home safely. Loki, on the other hand, has come back several times and it would make sense, considering that in the comics he outlives both Odin and Thor, and rules over Asguard as a (surprisingly) benevolent leader. However, with how long Tom Hiddleston has been involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and how early in the film he was killed, it’s more than probable that we won’t see a return in the future.

In one of the more emotional and character developing scenes for Thanos, he and Gamora travel to Vormir, meet a passed on Red Skull, and Thanos proceeds to sacrifice his adopted daughter, proving that he did, in fact, love her. It was a very clear and early death, and once again very important to Peter Quill’s character development. Though it is possible that she’ll return, we here at Orc Rogues doubt it.

Okay, so this one’s interesting and more than a little hard to call. Vision is a relatively new character and his relationship with Wanda (Scarlet Witch) had hardly developed. However, his first death at the hands of Wanda was entirely permanent. Then Thanos shows up, pulls some wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, and kills him again, only this time Vision’s body is left, limp and discolored. Did Shuri succeed in keeping his personality separate from the stone and we might see his return in the form of White Vision.

(Deep Breath...) Bucky Barnes, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Teen Groot, Mantis, Drax, Star Lord, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Maria Hill and Nick Fury (Whew...)

Yep, we’re lumping them all together with an honorable mention to Spider-Man’s death, spectacularly acted by Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. Why? Well, because they all died the same way, by Thanos’s snap. So we believe they’ll ALL be making a return by the end of the next Avengers movie. With most of them already slated for appearances in the near future, we believe that all of the Avengers remaining are going to have one last hurrah as the original team.

We don’t, however, believe that the deaths have ended. With Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans having done these movies for nearly ten years, we don’t see either continuing for much longer. Add Scarlet Johansen and Jeremy Renner to the list and the next Avengers movie might be a blood bath, though we also expect some characters to simply retire. We specifically hope that Bucky Barnes will have a short stint as White Wolf before taking on the star-studded shield of Captain America though there has been a lot of speculation that the next Capt will be Sam Wilson.
